Super disappointing cheap quality
"I’m losing faith in the Rip Curl brand. I bought this watch intending to use it as both my daily watch and my surf watch. While I haven’t had the chance to test it in the water yet, my first impression is disappointing. The watch looks and feels much cheaper than I expected for the price. Honestly, it reminds me of a $30 department store watch rather than a premium surf watch. The band is made from a hard plastic material that feels stiff and uncomfortable, and it doesn’t inspire much confidence in its long-term durability. The clasp also doesn’t feel particularly secure, which makes me question how well it will hold up during regular surf sessions. What makes this even more disappointing is that Rip Curl used to make much better watches. I wish they still offered the Cambridge surf watch. That model had a metal case, a high-quality rubber band that felt secure in the water, and sold for around $80. Compared to that watch, this feels like a significant step backward in quality. I hope my concerns prove unfounded once I get it in the water, but based on the build quality alone, I expected much more from Rip Curl."
