ERIN BROOKS WINS FIJI PRO FOR BACK-TO-BACK CT VICTORIES
Two events. Two wins. Erin Brooks is on a roll.
Erin Brooks has claimed the 2026 Fiji Pro, securing back-to-back Championship Tour victories and returning to the place where she made history just two years ago.
The Canadian was crowned the winner in Fiji after Isabella Nichols was forced to withdraw from the Final due to an ankle injury sustained during her Semifinal win over Brisa Hennessy.
For Erin, the result marks a full-circle moment at a wave that has already played a defining role in her career.
In 2024, she arrived in Fiji as a wildcard and left with her maiden Championship Tour victory, becoming the first Canadian surfer to win a CT event. Now a full-time member of the Tour, she has returned to the top of the podium once again, just weeks after winning the Outerknown Tahiti Pro.
“I feel so amazing, I’ve just been having the best time these last two events,” Erin said. “I can’t believe that I got two back-to-back wins. That just seemed impossible at the beginning of the year, but now I’m just insanely happy.”
The victory caps off an incredible turnaround for Erin after a challenging start to the season. Her wins in Tahiti and Fiji have seen her climb from World No. 19 to World No. 8 in just two events.
After claiming the win at Teahupo’o, Erin arrived in Fiji with renewed confidence and wasted no time showing it, opening her campaign with what she described as the best heat of her life and posting a Perfect 10.
“I’ve just been having so much fun,” Erin said. “That win in Tahiti took so much pressure off and allowed me to go out there and surf the way I wanted to.”
“I’ve just been smiling and having fun, and I just love this place.”
Her Tahiti-Fiji double also puts Erin in rare company. After arriving in Fiji, she crossed paths with 1999 World Champion Mark Occhilupo, who won both events back-to-back in 1999.
“He congratulated me on Tahiti and was telling me about the ‘dime-a-double,’ where you win both Fiji and Tahiti back-to-back,” Erin said. “It’s been in my head, and the closer I’ve been getting, I’ve been getting so excited, and finally doing it is insane.”
While the Final didn’t unfold the way either surfer had hoped, Erin was quick to recognise Nichols and the form she had shown throughout the event.
“I’m honestly so bummed for Isabella. I love her like a sister, and I really wanted to share a Final with her,” Erin said. “I hope she rests up really quickly, and I’m praying for her.”
With two straight victories behind her, Erin now carries plenty of momentum into the back half of the season as the Tour moves to Stop No. 9, the Lexus Trestles Pro.
“I’m so excited to go to Lowers,” Erin said. “I love it there and have a lot of friends and family there, so it’s going to be great.”
