Usually for us Australia day would kick off with a surf followed by a day on the beach, or sprawled in someones back yard listening to triple j's hottest 100 and eating snags in bread.... with sauce (not ketchup). This year, with no waves in site, we celebrated our nations founding with a rope towing session. And a spa. Gnar.
WE WWWWOOOOOONNNN. We won. We won. We WON. Yessss. We're proud to say that First Love was nominated for Best Story, Best Film, Best Documentary and Emerging Film Maker Award last night at X-Dance. We took out 2 of the 4 nominations and took home the Best Documentary Trophy while Claire Gorman took home the Emerging Film Maker Award. We celebrated in true First Love style... on the dance floor…

For the ultimate after movie (or even movie) snack we can recommend a giant tub of cheese balls. I can safely say that we're got through them successfully. The tub came everywhere with us. Spa. Pool. TV. But now.... it's finished.
Everything we didn't expect happened tonight. On our way through to Park City we stocked up at the supermarket. We got a few American essentials... bagels, salted butter, frozen pizza ... AND A GIANT BUCK OF CHEESE BALLS. We just couldn't walk past these babies in the super market. They were on special. So we invested. The question is .... can we get through them? We think so.
OMG. We're here. And it's amazing. Our place has a hot tub. The mountains have fresh snow. And when we picked up our passes from X-Dance. We got a GOODIE BAG. And inside that goodie bag was a FREE GO PRO. Amazingly generous of the gopro guys... we'll def be getting some ace footage of us on the hill.
We're on the way to Park City, Utah. And we're pumped. We found out late last year that we were accepted into X-Dance, an x-treme sports festival that runs alongside Sundance in Park City. Pretty insane. Not only do we surf but we also ski/board. So we were pretty pumped when VAS Entertainment decided to send all three film makers over here.
